ABOUT THE FREEDOM CAMPAIGN ![]() ABOUT THE FREEDOM CAMPAIGN Honorary Chaired by Nobel Peace Prize recipient Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the Freedom Campaign is a joint venture of the Human Rights Action Center and US Campaign for Burma non-profit organizations focused on the advocacy and empowerment of individuals whose lives are shining testaments of peace and human rights. In a world wrought with oppression, violence, and human rights atrocities, these purveyors of truth are not afraid of drawing attention to the issues, although it often means sacrificing their own freedoms. By building awareness of global peacemakers, and bringing to light the struggles that hinder their efforts, the Freedom Campaign assists in spreading their message globally, and inevitably overturning their censorship. Currently, the Freedom Campaign is focused on drawing worldwide attention to Aung San Suu Kyi, the world's only imprisoned Nobel Peace Prize recipient, and the struggles of the people living in Burma.
